FROM THE FIRST QUESTION TO THE FINISHED SURFACE
Every concrete project has its own conditions. This is how we organize the conversation and the work around them.
Tell us the location, type of work, approximate size and what you want to improve. Include the existing condition, preferred timing and access concerns. Photos or available plans can help start a useful discussion.
The next step may include a site visit, measurements or a review of project information. For existing concrete, we consider visible damage, movement and drainage. For a planned structure or subcontract scope, the relevant plans and coordination needs matter.
Discuss the removal limits, preparation, concrete requirements, finish and any separate repairs. Clarify what is included and how related work, unknown conditions or changes will be handled before proceeding.
Review the proposed scope and estimate, then discuss availability, access and the order of work. Weather, readiness and any required project coordination can influence scheduling.
The preparation depends on the scope: it may involve removal and ground preparation for new concrete, or evaluation, cleaning and surface preparation for an overlay. Forms, reinforcement and other project details must be ready for the work they support.
Concrete placement and finishing follow the agreed scope and site conditions. A resurfacing project follows the preparation and application requirements of its selected system. The finishing stage should support the intended use as well as the chosen appearance.
Curing or material-specific protection and release timing are part of the project. Walking, furniture, vehicle traffic and later construction may each need different timing. Follow the instructions for the actual work.
Use cleaning and maintenance methods appropriate to the finish. Keep drainage routes clear and watch for changes such as movement, loose material or developing unevenness. Let JLA know about concerns so the condition can be discussed.
